PAT celebrates 10 years in southside Virginia!

The Parents as Teachers (PAT) home visiting program serving Emporia, Greensville and Sussex celebrated its 10th year this week. The PAT program serving the counties of Emporia, Greensville, and Sussex is one of the many programs at the Improvement Association. The Improvement Association is an anti-poverty, non-profit Community Action Agency serving several localities in rural Southside Virginia.

Several staff and parents (pictured left) in attendance spoke about how the PAT program helped them become better parents. Local partners from the regional Smart Beginnings coalition also spoke about how home visiting gives young families a strong start.
